It is carved in relief from balsa wood and painted with acrylics. The top of the drum is made from genuine iguana skin. Skin of the Iguana / Piel de Iguana / Erra Lenh While the Malekus value the iguana as food and as material for artistry, they are very careful so as to allow the population to thrive.
