WARRIOR OF THE
FOREST
As is true with all the warrior masks, the warrior himself represents Man's need to protect Nature. His anger reflects his fear that Nature will be destroyed by greed and corruption. Toucan / Tucán / Píli Represents the tranquilizing power of Woman over the aggressive, protectiveness of Man. When the bird is looking upward toward God, it indicates a calm, peaceful, happy time. Blue Morpho / Mariposa Azúl / Fufu The Blue Morpho is demonstrating a calming effect over the warrior who is angry over the destruction of the forest because of greed and corruption. The Blue Morpho is the national butterfly of Costa Rica. Its gorgeous blue wings flutter gracefully through fields and forests throughout the country. For the Malekus, the bright blue of the Morpho represents the color of love. Anteater / Hormiguero / Orón Because the anteater controls the ant and termite populations, it is a symbol of balance in Nature.
